Hello and Welcome to my About Me Section ๐
Here goes!!
My name is LaShondra Keion Riddle. But most people just call me LaShondra J I just turned 23, but sometimes, I feel the need to tell people I’m still 22….I just feel so old already :-/
I went to school in Boston. Graduated in May 2011. Majored in Psychology. Minored in Sociology. Joined Real Life (Campus Crusade). Ate waffle fries. Drank Pepsi. Cheered on the Red Sox (Hated the Yankees!!). Hung out with friends. Prayed for my campus. Explored the city. And kept really weird sleeping hours.
My family consists of my mom, step-dad, sister, and grandmother…my three aunts and ten uncles…my twenty-one first cousins and my seven or so second cousins J We are loud. And country. And although, I myself was born and raised smack dab in the heart of Atlanta, sometimes I think they forget that they aren’t still down in dirt-road Alabama somewhere chasing goats and live chickens. But I love them. And they love me. And we stick together. And at the end of the day, that’s all that matters, right?? J
Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite authors. My favorite book by her is called The Truth About Forever. SO GOOD!! READ IT!!
I too am a writer. Or, at least I try to be. I’m a big fan of political poetry. I also love spoken word. Some of my favorite artists are Rudy Francisco, Joshua Bennett, and Carlos Andres Gomez.
I (am in) LOVE (with) John Mayer. It's kind of a problem.
I collect composition notebooks. Some may say, obsessively. I can’t begin to tell you how many are sitting on my bookshelf right now. I also tend to buy journals and only write in them for a week :-/
I Facebook stalk people like it's my job hahaha
I met my best friends in the ENTIRE world during my freshman year of college and on a summer mission's trip in Seattle ๐
I kind of live for road trips!! The longest one I've ever taken was down the east coast from Boston to Florida. It took 30 hours….we did not stop for sleep ๐
New Year's Eve/New Year's is my ALL. TIME. FAVORITE. HOLIDAY. EVERRRRR. More specifically, the hours between 10pm-3am. Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is my second!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE country music!! and I mean LOVEEEEEEEEE!! That too is kind of a problem hahaha
For the past five years, I’ve wanted nothing more than to work in prisons, rehab centers, and halfway houses. I have such compassion for people who are incarcerated and those who struggle with alcohol and drug addiction. And I believe wholeheartedly that rehabilitation is possible. That recovery is possible. That we serve a God who is more than able to redeem each of their (our) lives from destruction, restore them (us) back to health, and use them (us) as instruments for His Kingdom.
