I am learning more and more about God’s provision as I begin Month 2 of my race. A big part of this process is fundraising. I am so pumped for the day where I will be FULLY FUNDED. But until then, I wait for his provision.
Over the past few years, the Lord has been preparing my heart for big things. I recently graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations. Through my time at Samford, I was very fortunate to be able to travel often. I have studied in Spain, Costa Rica, and London. My studies expanded my knowledge and love for travel and people of other cultures. I was also able to go on numerous mission trips. I have served in orphanages in Mexico and Guatemala. I have taught English in a village in the Dominican Republic, and I have seen lives transformed through international missions.
After graduation, I began working in the nonprofit field. I felt like the Lord was calling me out of my comfort zone and on a journey to serve Him internationally. So, in January 2014, I began my journey on The World Race.
The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world to serve “the least of these” while amongst real and raw community. It facilitates discipleship through the process of discovering the abundant life He promised. The World Race births partnerships with ministries around the world. I am serving alongside 46 other World Changers who have a passion to love on others and share Christ with them. My heartbeat is to see a changed world.
I will face many challenges throughout the World Race, but one of my greatest challenges is financial support. Like most other mission organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to be fully funded, I need to raise $16,285. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip, and all donations are tax deductible. Due to the generosity of many people, I am only $5,500 away from my financial goal.
