I am a dreamer. For those of you who don’t know, I have quite an imaginary mind. In the last few years, my dreams have only gotten bigger. When I found God and pledged my heart to him, I learned to dream with Him, and with Him, all things are possible. (Matthew 19:26)
10 years ago, during nursing school, a dream was planted in my heart to pursue missionary work, and I didn’t even know it. I had the opportunity to go to Trujillo, Peru for a week on a medical mission. We went to multiple rural areas in Trujillo to perform basic health assessments and taught health education to underprivileged communities. The experience was so life-giving that it birthed in me a new hunger and inspiration to make a difference in the lives of others around the world. 10 years later, that same dream continued as I embarked on another mission trip, with a different purpose, but the same heart to make a difference. I went on a 4-day trip to Tijuana, Mexico, where we helped to build an orphanage and care for the orphans. While both of these mission trips fulfilled pieces of the dream planted in my heart years ago, I know I am called to do more.
God has called me to fully live out His dream for me by going on an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries around the world through a non-profit organization called World Race. We will be traveling to parts of South America, Africa, and Asia. My team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, build and work in orphanages, minister to human trafficking victims, etc. Opportunities to serve the people of each community are endless.
Partner with me to make a difference in the world. This is a self-funded mission trip, and I will need to fundraise $19,200 to cover all field expenses for 11 months. Though the number sounds vast and impossible, I remind myself daily that all things are possible with God.
