Why World Race?
Some may think I’m crazy for leaving my comfortable lifestyle of a good career, fantastic family and friends and amazing roommates! I have felt stagnant in my life the past few years and have been wanting to get outside my comfort zone and grow emotionally, spiritually and mentally. While scrolling on my Facebook feed, I saw one of my friends posting pictures of her on the World Race. I thought about it and shared with some family and friends the idea and that I was thinking about it; however, if you know me- you would know that this is a big stretch for me! I like my food a certain way, I like to workout and live in a comfortable lifestyle. This would diffidently take me outside my comfort zone. Then February came where I would have to decide should I continue to teach with co-workers whom I love and adore? Should I apply for coaching and administration roles which is where I see myself in the future? Should I apply for the World Race? After many long talks, praying about it and sharing my feelings and desires for what I wanted to see happen this upcoming year, I knew that God was calling me to go on The World Race.
I know that this year I will be transformed! There will be many things that will challenge me and will provide new perspectives on life while traveling the next 11 months. I will learn who I really am, cultivate my passions and desires in life and truly understanding my purpose and calling in life.
