I have never been able to put my finger on what inspires, motivates or drives my actions but I have been asking myself the question- What do I value? What do I desire?

It was beautifully put this morning at church while one of my friends preached. All of us have different passions, dreams, and characteristics. We were created and live where we do for a specific purpose.

But what was mine? I have been asking myself this for years. You have no idea how much money I have spent throughout the past decade sitting at a coffee shop writing down my passions, desires, goals and just what makes me. I have constantly wrestled with what my life should look like based on society’s opinions.

Today as I sat with a friend “verbally processing” (I do this A L O T- I have learned). I voiced that I value connection. I felt like a lightbulb turned on. This is what I have been asking myself for years. I believe that I value it so much that it has been a driving force for many of my life decisions. It is why I do the things I do. I want to be connected to others.

Vulnerability breeds

Vulnerability

Which leads to

Connection

and connection

Bleeds love.

Time and time again this holds true, I became a teacher because I wanted to make a connection with 20 plus little ones while positively impact their lives. I joined the World Race to be able to connect with locals and the people I would be doing life with for 11 months. I am a Christian and have a connection with God. I have never felt so connected to God, others and myself as I do right now in this season of my life.

This is all starting to make sense.

I value connection so much, I try to find an instant common bond with others to create a foundational connection to build upon. I want to form a connection with them. This why I value friends, family and just about every human being I meet.

Connection. It’s a funny thing. It’s intangible. It’s something that is unspoken but can be blatanly seen between people. It’s a feeling. It’s a choice. It’s a solution. It’s a gift.

Connection is essential to our existence, we exist to connect.
