Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you for all your prayers and support over the last year as God led us to Guatemala and India. When we process our times in other countries serving, all we can think about is how blessed we are to have gone. This is because of you, and we are overcome by gratitude and humility! We have more exciting news to share with you! God is now leading us to serve overseas for a year. We would like to tell you more about the mission, The World Race, and how we feel God is preparing us for it.

We have learned of an organization called Adventures In Missions who offer an eleven month mission called The World Race. “AIM is looking for radically committed disciples to help revolutionize the world. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world, and it’s not your typical missions experience. It’s a way for young adults to abandon a traditional lifestyle in exchange for a dramatic paradigm shift. Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. The best part of the World Race is it’s merely the beginning of a life-long journey.”

We are drawn to The World Race because of several reasons. The first of those reasons is The World Race emphasizes that they are looking for radically committed disciples. Over the past year God has been molding and shaping our hearts everyday to look more like Jesus’. He is revealing things to us that blow our minds about Christianity and “the American dream.” He is opening our eyes to humanity and the love we are called to show. We are daily processing what it looks like to be a disciple of Christ and daily feeling He is placing a desire in our hearts to serve overseas.

The World Race we have been called to launches July 2010. The July team will be serving in Dominican Republic, Ireland, Hungary, Turkey, Israel, Egypt, Kenya, Uganda, Africa, Thailand, Cambodia, and Asia. We are requesting financial support. In leaving our jobs for a year, we will need support in order to serve in these countries. Our total expenses for all of our food, shelter and travel costs will be $28,600 USD. Any financial support could be a one-time offering, or an amount pledged per month, for every month we are away. We hope that your resources will be multiplied by our work! If this is something you could do, we have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, which invites you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures in Missions. Please do not put our names in the memo field of the check. Including the enclosed card will provide AIM with all the necessary information and indicating that your donation is for our participation in the World Race. All donations should be mailed to Adventures in Missions, P.O. Box 534470, Atlanta, GA 30353-4470. AIM is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501c (3) non-profit organization in the United States. Donors will receive receipts for the ir gifts with the understanding that the disbursement of those gifts lies completely at the discretion of AIM and that the gifts are non-refundable and non-transferable, per IRS regulations. Unfortunately, for Canadian supporters, this gift is not tax deductible as AIM is a U.S. based organization.

Finally, we are asking that you partner with us in order to follow our journey around the world through our web address, emails, blogs and pictures. This alone would mean a lot to us. Please check out the websites we’ve included with this letter. Once again, thank you so much for everything you have already done for us in this journey!
