My name is Landry Petersen and I am a senior at the University of Arkansas. I am an International Studies major with a Religious Studies minor and I have committed to going on the World Race in August of 2018.

DANG, GOD IS SO GOOD!

I am beyond excited for this new adventure. I am excited to immerse myself in many new cultures. I am excited to grow with my teammates and learn new things about God and who He’s calling me to be.

But most importantly I’m excited to work alongside ministry partners in these countries as we care for the lost, the hungry, the sick, and the orphaned and show them the love of Christ.

So, why the World Race???

Through the molding of my heart over the last several years, God has planted in me a desire to GO and proclaim His name among the nations.

Because I recognize the deep and desperate need I have for Jesus every second of every day.

Because I know just how fulfilling a life can be when you’re completely filled by Him.

Because I want every precious child of God to feel that as well.

And if we are children of God then we are heirs to His kingdom. Through Jesus Christ we are heirs!!!

God desires for all of His children to know Him. He wants us to feel the grace he covers us with daily. He wants us to know that because of Jesus we don’t have to do anything to earn His love. It is already bought and paid for. We can rest peacefully in the beautiful and abundant life He has planned for us.

I desire for every heart to know this.

To know the feeling of freedom and contentment and grace and rest.

To know just how good and righteous our God is.

I desire to see Revelation 7:9 fulfilled.

“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”

This new season I’m being launched into is exciting, and overwhelming, and really, really sweet, but God is continually reminding me that this trip isn’t about me at all. It’s about “tending His sheep” and making His glory known.

I pray that His glorious plan is fulfilled!

***Over this next year I will be working and raising support to cover my living expenses, travel expenses, health insurance, etc. Looking at the overall number is super scary, but I trust that God will provide the funds and maybe it’s through you!
