It’s a beautiful thing. It’s a messy thing.

It’s easy for me to love my friends. It’s easy for me to love strangers. But, take 20 random people from across the United States, and ask us to set up a little “tent neighborhood” for a month in New Zealand and ask me to love THOSE people… then it becomes hard.
But let me clarify.
I am not merely talking about putting up with people. I could put up with these people all the live long day (they are pretty legit). But, I don’t want this time here to pass me by. I want to love people the way Christ loves me. Without hesitation. I want to go out of my way to serve them. I want to pray intensively for them. I want to put their needs before my own.  I want to love them.

That, my friends, is what I am learning this week… as I scrub toilets at El Rancho.
