Hello beautiful friends! In case you do not know me, my name is Lalla-Rose Stanley and this is my World Race blog site where you can read all about me from now until the end of my trip, as well as you are able to donate here! This page is for me to tell you guys a little bit about who I am! I am so super duper excited to be able to serve such a good God this summer in THAILAND!!!!! How wildly cool and crazy and wonderful is that??!! God keeps His promises, that I am sure of!!
First things first, I am 19 years old and from Lexington, Kentucky but am currently in my freshman year at Western Kentucky University, majoring in elementary education! I have a passion for others, especially kids. I truly believe that all it takes is just one person to pour into someone for that someone’s life to be changed and that is why I want to teach!! I specifically have a heart for 2nd and 3rd grade because those are the years my parents got divorced and I want to be able to be the someone I needed when I was that age.
My parents getting a divorce is a huge part of testimony, and even though it was an extremely hard thing for me to go through at the time, I know that situation has shaped me into the person I am today! God took those rough years in my life and completely transformed them into something so beautiful that is now a part of my testimony that I believe God can now use to show others His love and mercy. I gave my heart to Jesus when I was 11 years old on March 14, 2012. That was such an incredible day filled with the spirit of God’s redemption! Throughout the years since 2012, God has been doing some incredible things in my life and I find myself constantly in awe of Him and all that He is!!
Throughout high school I was heavily involved in the arts- mostly theatre but also dancing and choir as well. They mean so much to me and I truly believe the arts are so important in our world and give us space to express ourselves while also teaching us incredible things such as empathy! I don’t do any theatre or dance in college- though I certainly miss both very much! To stay in touch with my artistic side, I am in choir and I love to sketch and paint in my free time as well! Some of my other hobbies include reading, watching movies/TV (I love movies and TV shows that can make you laugh one second and cry the next, LOL), and staying up way too late laughing at funny videos and memes.
