Day 3: Mongolia
When it comes to a new culture and a new language we all can asssume that there will be a few language blenders. Today my team and I had to make our way to the Embassy to extend our Visas. We filled out paper work with as much detail as we had received from our host. Turns out it was a little too much detail. I turned my teams paperwork into one of the officers in the office. The room immediately reacted with laughter. I just stood there and smiled in confusion of what was going on. Turns out the address that we received from our host was actually directions to our home and not the address itself. Everyone on our team thought the address that was four sentences long was a wee bit to long for an address. But not knowing the language we wrote down the address we received. The officers that where in the office said, “Thank you for your paperwork today, it has brought our office much JOY and we will always remember your team!”
At the end of the day I was so happy that our little blender brought so much joy to the office. What was a long day of bus rides and walking to the Embassy our team was able to bring joy to people and also bring laughter to our own team. God has a funny sense of humor and knew what His children needed after a long day of work!
