Dear family and friends,

I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones well. I would love to hear what`s happening in your life. As for me, I am good and many great things have been going on, such as preparing to graduate from high school, PRAISE GOD. One major life-changing event that took place last year was my first mission trip to Haiti. I went to Haiti with my church, Harvest Christian Fellowship and while I was in Haiti, I discovered a passion that was much greater than myself.

There was something about going into the hospitals, tent cities, orphanages and praying for the sick, sharing the Gospel with the lost and loving on the children; basically sharing hope with the HOPELESS. All the while telling them how much God loves them that He sent his only son Jesus Christ to willingly die on the cross for our sins and that He calls us His sons and daughters. There is something about going to the ends of the earth to share about the love of Christ and totally relying on God in every circumstance that has me craving to make my life on earth, a life-long adventure TO DO JUST THAT. Coming home from Haiti I immediately jumped on board with the missions ministry and went with them to Mexico, New York/Philly, and Haiti two more times. One day I was researching mission trip experiences and the World Race link popped up. As I found myself watching most of their videos a desire quickly began to stir for me to go on the World Race Gap Year. I got accepted for “The World Race Gap Year“, which is through a Christian organization called ‘Adventures in Missions’.

Gap Year: 9 month mission trip, diving into three diverse regions: three months in Central America, three in Southeast Asia, and three in Africa. Why Gap Year? Well as the World Race puts it, “Gap Year is not the traditional path. It’s not norm and doesn’t meet the status quo. Gap Year is for those looking for adventure and complete transformation.”

Here is a brief insight on a few things we may encounter on Gap Year:

  • Meet practical and spiritual needs as we serve in outreach programs where we can teach and spend time with youth trapped in drug addiction
  • Serving meals to families who make their homes in the dumps and slums
  • Build relationships with women in bars and equip women with trades like cosmetology, that will help them leave prostitution for good
  • Caring for the elderly while serving in areas where modern-day slavery still exist
  • Go door-to-door, hut-to-hut sharing the love of Christ in seemingly hopeless places

In order for me to be fully funded for Gap Year, I must raise $13,000, which covers all my expenses on the field. Though it sounds like a lot, if 124 people all donated $100, I would be FULLY FUNDED for Gap Year! I need $9,000 before July, and all $13,000 before September. Whether you decide to do a one-time or a monthly donation, every bit HELPS. I will be facing many challenges throughout the Gap Year trip, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support.

Prayer warriors…where are you? Please keep my team and I in your prayers. Pray for unity, love, no distractions, may God alone be our focus at all times, for us to be open to whatever God has for us. I`m ready to leave my mark on the world as I work to expand the kingdom, WILL YOU HELP ME?
