“Men, why are you doing these things? We also are men, of like nature with you, and we bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God, who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.”
[Acts 14:15]
I would like to share a story with you guys.
It started way back around the 4th grade when two young girls met at their parents work halloween party. There wasn’t that many kids at this party, so these two young girls found their way to introducing themselves. Instantly they clicked and hung out the whole time! As the party was coming to an end, they swapped numbers on a paper plate to keep in contact! In 6th grade, one of the girls found the paper plate in her closet so she called up the other girl to see how she was doing.
Then, 7th grade comes around. These two young girls happen to go to the same school, and even have the same best friend. So the best friend of both the girls, introduced them to each other. These three girls become really close and started to hang out a lot. Eventually, the two girls figure out they met back in the 4th grade!
These two girls that met back in the 4th grade, have quite the journey together! They ended up getting into a lot of trouble, and became partners in crime. They were Bonnie and Clide.
They just keep getting deeper and deeper into trouble, they were lost and looking for love in all the wrong places.
One of the girls ended up moving with her grandma. Her grandma she moved in with was a Christian and loved the Lord! The Lord was working on this girl. This girl started having dreams, that lead to her to be curious about God. As the dreams continued, she knew God was speaking to her. She ended up going to church with her grandma and a miracle happened. As the pastor was speaking she was able to make sense of it all. God allowed her to understand, and it pierced her heart. She realized everything that was being said was true. She realized that she was a sinner in need of Gods grace, and that she couldn’t clean herself up, but that God would meet her where she was at and clean her up and make her new in HIM! This girl was no longer trying to find her identity in other things, but found her identity in the God her created her. She was no longer looking for love, but realized TRUE love is found in Christ! Most importantly this girl has repented of her sins & asked Gods forgiveness, believed that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that He loves us so much that He died on the cross for our sins and rose again three days later and defeated the grave, she asked God to come into her life, and has placed her full trust and faith into God alone, and she will never be the same.
This girl still hung out with the other girl, they were now 15. The other girl was still partying, and by Gods grace still alive. The girl who became a christian invited the other girl over for the weekend, she mentioned that they would go to church while she was out there. The other girl said okay cool, it wasn’t a problem. Because that girl would go to church sometimes, but never cared to actually listen.
The the other girl went to her friends house for the weekend, she noticed her friend seems different. Her friend seemed happy, and changed. When they went to church, the girl that was still partying was looking around, and noticed her friend actually listening to the Pastor as if He was saying something interesting. So she started to listen… and as she was listening, God was working on her, and removed her blindfold. She thought the Pastor was just talking to her, and she was crying. This girl didn’t really share her emotions with others, she had walls up to protect herself. But everything the Pastor was saying, was exactly what was going on in her life and how she felt. The same thing happened as with her friend. She realized she was headed towards destruction, Hell, and she was in need of Gods grace! It was hard for her to believe that God loved her so much, He died on the cross for her sins, that she could get right with God and spend all eternity with Him in Heaven! So unworthy but still He loves me, what great Love. She as well, gave her life to God. She no longer had to look for love in ALL the wrong places, because TRUE love is found in Christ!
These two friends gave their life to Christ at the age of 15, they were completely transformed from the inside out!
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Three years go by. God has dramatically changed them! You wouldn’t even recognize them, as the friends they use to hang out with don’t! These girls are closer than ever because their friendship is founded on Christ. God has put a great calling on these girls lives. God has called them to be missionaries! The girl who became a christian first was praying, and asking God to give her a heart for whatever ministry He is calling her to. She soon started growing a heart for muslims, and the desire to move to the Middle East started to grow inside her!
This girl knew she was called to the Middle East. God has given her the gift of Evangelism, and has a great boldness to go up to any muslim and share Gods love with them! As love nailed Jesus to the cross, Love draws this girl to share the Gospel. She has been waiting on the Lord for almost two years to send her to the Middle East in HIS PERFECT TIMING.
God has opened a door NO MAN CAN SHUT, for this girl to go to Lebanon Dec 8th, 2014! Not even two weeks away! The Lord has been faithful to provide all her needs.
I am honored to say, this story is of me and my BEST FRIEND SKYLER TUCKER!
My Best friend is leaving to Lebanon Dec 8th!
I love her so much, and have been through quite a lot with her.
She is sold out to God, its all or nothing! If God is not Lord of ALL, He isn’t Lord at all!
She has been a great example in my life. She is a Proverbs 31 women of God!
I can say these verses describes her!
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” 1 Timothy 4:12
“And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 2:22-24
“And as we stayed many days, a certain prophet named Agabus came down from Judea. When he had come to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own hands and feet, and said, “Thus says the Holy Spirit, ‘So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man who owns this belt, and deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.’ ”Now when we heard these things, both we and those from that place pleaded with him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, “What do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.” Acts 21:10-13
Please keep Skyler in your prayers.
Pray:
-God would go before her to Lebanon
-God would give her wisdom in preparing to go, and wisdom for while she is out there!
-God would use her to bless the ministry she will be living and serving with along with the people in Lebanon
-She would daily, moment to moment put GOD FIRST, abiding in Him, and drawing near to Him constantly!
-She would keep her eyes on God, and not get distracted
-Her heart and mind would be guarded in Christ Jesus
-She would pray without ceasing
-She would have boldness to proclaim the Gospel
-In all that she does, says, or thinks would be out of Christ LOVE
-God would protect her and keep her healthy, providing all her needs
-God would protect her family, and give them comfort knowing their daughter is in the Hands of the creator of the universe!!
