He has made everything beautiful in its time.

God certainly has his own timing. And it’s not even close to ours.

Last month in my time in the Philippines, I left my mark.

While staying at Mt. Moriah and working with the orphanage I had the opportunity to paint a mural  on a wall in the home. My team stayed pretty busy the whole month so I had put off the opportunity to paint a mural until the day before we left.

Yuppers. That would be my procrastination skills. I knew I didn’t have much time but I really wanted to paint. So I went ahead and painted hoping it could be finished in a day.I didn’t  realize that I would learn anything by painting a huge picture on a wall but God thought otherwise. I’m seeing that God loves to use unlikely situations to teach me stuff, with unlikely people.

I started on the overwhelmingly large white wall all by myself. I was frustrated in the first 15 minutes at the drippy, goopy paint, and crappy paintbrushes. I continued for a while myself but tired quickly and  went back to my room to take a break where Janell  asked what I was doing.  I told her I was painting a mural and asked her if she’d like to join me…It shouldn’t be that hard, but I really don’t like asking for help. God told me to  humble myself and ask, so I did.

Once I had someone helping me paint the mural it was much more fun, relaxing and productive. I’m also protective of my art but God said to let go. It wasn’t my wall. So whoever wanted to paint something could paint whatever they wanted. It ended up almost a collage of art.People came in and out, painted or just kept us company I loved it and learned a few things in a matter of hours just painting on a wall. I loved being able to decorate one of the walls so that the children will remember us forever…and I didn’t mind the few lessons God managed to throw in there either!

God is good, and he makes everything beautiful in its time.
