Hello World. I don't know you, and you don't know me but, we do have something in common, and it is the best something in the history of somethings; Jesus. Jesus is our commonality and because of that I love you and you love me. We are friends, we are family, we are bound together by a love that cannot be shaken or broken because it was made by a God who can never be shaken. And as your sister, I am stoked to share this journey with you! Can I get an Amen?!
I'll share something I love with you, and I hope you find this as encouraging as I do:
"There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind"
I love this (thank you, C.S. Lewis)! It is a common hope that is shared by all of Jesus' followers. A promise that no matter where we come from, who we are or what we have done, Jesus is offering us a better life through His love. A life of love. A freaking awesome love. And it is going to be awesome! We are leaving behind our sin, our shame, and our old selves and charging down the road ahead. Along this road we may get hurt or lost or scared, but it doesn't matter because Jesus has promised us better things, and this is His road, and the road is ruled by His rules and paved by His grace and love, and it is the best road to be on.
I don't really know what all that entails, and sometimes I forget to live in this "better things ahead" mentality. But what I do know is that, as long as we are following Jesus, everything we face and suffer and enjoy, is going to be better; better because Jesus has promised to always be there. And Jesus is better. Jesus is better than everything else. He is ahead, and our old world behind!
And that is why I am excited to begin this journey! It is my next leap of faith, my next opportunity to fall more in love with who Jesus is! It is a time to see how big Jesus' love is and how far it reaches and a time to accept how small and insignificant I am without Jesus. I want to see Jesus' love pierce the darkness in this world and in myself and watch His love explode! I'm ready for better things! With Jesus, I am ready for the road ahead!
