God gave me a word for Honduras; something he wanted the whole country to know. I hadn’t even been in the county for one hour when this happened. Our ministry contact for that month, Graciee, had just picked us up from the Tegucigalpa airport in a bus and we were headed into the mountains for our first month on the field. I was looking out of the window, enjoying my first non United States view in my whole life when God spoke to me, clear as day. He said:

“I want the people of Honduras to know that I am a Father who keeps His promises.”

Well, cool story God, but how am I going to tell them?

A little background information on Honduras: it is an incredibly violent country. It is usually named the murder capital of the world. The family system of Honduras is in shambles. Fathers are often not around at all or abusive (not always, but common). Part of our ministry that month was loving on girls who have had children as a result of rape or incest. Police are not that helpful and murderers often go without charges. So, the word made sense, people did need to know this. But who am I, that God should tell me this and how was I supposed to tell?

Fast forward a few days, it turns out that Graciee has a radio show that speaks out against violence and abuse and MY team is the one that gets to go with her to be on the radio.

Oh, and it goes out to over a quarter of a million people! Say what?

I immediately knew why God had told me that, and I knew that’s what we were going to talk about on the radio. I told me team and Graciee and they all agreed. So the following wednesday we went to the radio station in Talanga, Guatemala and shared with several hundred thousand people how God keeps His promises. We shared how God loves His children; how he wants to lavish his love on them and how He will never let them down.
I know that seeds were planted that day. Even if that word was only for one person, it was worth it. Even if that word was only for that one, broken woman or child who thought they could never be loved by or trust a father again, it was worth it. I pray for the people of Honduras. God is moving there, without a doubt. There are so many people living there who don’t even know how badly they need the healing love of the Lord.

Keep praying for Honduras (even though I’m posting this blog from Guatemala:) ) and keep praying for my world race! If you would like to donate to my account so that I can keep spreading the love of Jesus around the world, hit the Support me tab on the side of my blog. Donating is easy and so appreciated! I still need to raise almost $4000 by April 1st! Thank you for all your prayers and support!
