So it’s been a month without contact with any of you, man I can’t wait to fill you in on what’s been going on! My team spent the month deep in the mountains of Peru, working with an amazing program called Kuyay Talpuy* (Quechua for “sowing seeds with the love of God), which is designed to bring education, health outreach, and discipleship to children and families who otherwise would not receive it. God is moving strong here in Peru, and there are so many stories to tell, I could never write enough blogs to do it justice. So here’s just a sampler platter of what the month looked like. Hoping to write more in-depth soon!
What I did in Peru this month:
– Rode in a bus for a week straight
– Ate guinea pig, sheep intestines, sheep liver, and pig head
– Lost my heart (daily) to a group of preschool-aged love nuggets
– Helped make traditional Patchamanca…got covered in corn, but man so worth it!
– Got eaten up by some sort of Peruvian terrorist bug
– Woke up to thunder, rain, and beautiful sunrises
– Hiked 45 minutes every morning through the Andes Mountains (best commute ever!)
– Harvested crops
– Saw new (to me) stars and constellations
– Wrote a letter. With pen and paper.
– Lost everything (Phil. 7-8)
