This blog is for YOU. The words you’re about to read I wrote with you in mind. YOU who have read all my blogs, one of my blogs or even just one paragraph of a blog. And for YOU who has donated, prayed and commented on my posts or checked on my family since I’ve been gone. My supporters, encouragers, prayer warriors, friends and family- this is for YOU.
These last 11 months were life changing for me and I couldn’t have done it without each of you. As I came home and looked back on this year I see y’all in each and every moment. You might not have been on the field dancing with the special needs home in Honduras, teaching English in Vietnam, preaching in Albania, or doing community outreach in Uganda but I was BECAUSE OF YOU. You made it possible for me to go on this life-transforming journey!
I want to say THANK YOU! Thank you to everyone who gave. Thank you for your words of encouragement. Thank you for all the prayers you lifted up for me and my squad. Thank you for checking on my family and being an encouragement for them as well!
It was amazing and humbling to see how God worked in my life and in all of yours- you felt a call to give and you were obedient! I know the Lord values obedience far more than anything else so I know that act of faith will be rewarded. I was floored, because I know you all have your own expenses to cover but you chose to give to me and my journey! Even after I was fully funded I would get little surprise donations while I was on the field; “to have for something fun,” or to buy a Christmas movie to feel at home or to allow me to fly back to the states to meet my new squad for training camp! It was so sweet!!
At times it’s hard to keep asking for money. But what I’ve realized is that the Lord works in amazing ways. He will always provide if you’re following His Will. It takes a leap of faith, but he’s waiting on the other side to show you how he’s planned every single thing to the T to get you where he’s calling you. Sometimes that leap of faith is leaving the country for 11 months and sometimes it’s sending money from your bank account to support a missionary. Neither one is greater or less than the other. God calls us each to our own path and they are all just as important. If we all left the country, who would minister to America? And if we all stayed who could reach the third world countries?
Of course, God doesn’t need any of us to do anything but he’s CHOSEN US. I am so thankful to be chosen by him to be a vessel to these other countries and to these students going on the race. I’m so grateful to have a support system like I do who make me feel seen, loved and cared for even if I’m miles and miles away! Y’all are all amazing!!
Last but certainly not least I want to thank P Squad. These last 11 months were full of highs and lows and I know I was certainly not perfect so I appreciate all the love and grace you showed me. I couldn’t imagine spending 11 months of radically growing with any other group! Y’all helped me let go of the lies I didn’t need to hold onto and you spoke life into the truths I’ve come to believe! Your love and encouragement will stay with me for a long long time! I pulled out all the sweet notes I received over the last year and it made me tear up. I’ve never felt so deeply loved by a group of people. Thanks for being my first world race family!
I could go on and on about how much I love you all- p squad and friends and family back in the states! It’s been an AMAZING year and I cannot wait to see what’s in store for these next 9 months!
Here‘s to you!
love,
kyn
