Hey everyone!

Sorry for the delayed update!
Vietnam was absolutely amazing. During the month of December – I got a new team!
[check them out: Team Zion is straight fire]

I got to a new country and lived in Da Nang, Vietnam and worked for Fisher’s Superkids which is an English center that works as an after school program.

My ministry hosts were two amazing young girls from Pretoria, South Africa who have the largest and boldest hearts for the Lord! It was awesome getting to come aside them and help support them in their daily lives.

Every day my team and I would start the day with team time: reading through the She Reads Truth Advent series. Then, we would walk to Fisher’s and help the HR girls with office work (decorate the three centers, stuff presents for the staff, put together cards and candy for all the students, etc.) In the afternoon, we were each delegated a few Vietnamese staff members called Vietnamese Partners and taught them advanced business English. This was honestly a struggle sometimes. Being pretty fresh out of college, I speak English and know things about grammar – but I don’t remember why we speak the way we do! These Vietnamese partners work as aids in every classroom and assist the English teachers with the kids to be an extra pair of hands and be the middle man between all parents and the teachers. They are wonder women – seriously I don’t know how they do it all.

Then at 5pm we would greet the kids coming to the centers after their full days of school and go into classes and pass out candy or actually teach the English classes ourselves. This was by far my favorite part of the day! Getting to interact with those kids was the highlight of my month.

Our days were long, challenging, hard, and yet incredibly rewarding. I grew more spiritually this month because of my community (my team, my ministry hosts, and the kids) than I have felt in a long time.

Learning a lot about God is great – but this past month I learned what it meant to ACT out of faith, to walk out in His boldness, to stand in front of a classroom of kids and adults and teach them English (and sometimes even myself) and only have the energy and confidence because the Lord provides it and I chose to say YES!

Well – I hope this brief overview helps you to picture the amazing work my team and I got to do this past month!

Blessings –
