I began my race in January of 2013, and have been back from it for a while now. I am a Canadian, currently residing in the US, and am married to one of my original teammates and best friend from the race. I am an extrovert that loves people and being around them! I don’t ever want to stop pursuing the dreams that the Lord has put on my heart, and I certainly never want to settle for the North American dream. I grew up moving around a lot with my fam jam, which is made up of my amazing (now estranged) parents, and my two wonderful brothers. I was a messed up and broken kid, who grew up into a messed up and broken young adult. Christ grabbed a hold of my heart when I was 27 years old, and changed my life. I have struggled with numerous things in my life, from eating disorders, drugs and alcohol, depression, insecurity, self hatred, unhealthy relationships with guys, codependency, and a ton of other stuff, all of which, if you asked, I would totally be willing to talk about with you. I love community, and investing in people, have a huge mother heart and a passion for youth and young adults, and it brings me no greater joy than to walk alongside people on their own journeys. My husband and I are currently involved in youth and young adult ministry at a church in West Texas, and are slated to alumni squad lead in September 2015.
