So while at training camp we had this incredible spirit-filled group, the Jonathan David Helser Band, lead us in worship. Every time the 300+ of us gathered for worship the Lord’s presence was overwhelming as we got lost in his goodness and beauty and the freedom that comes from knowing him more and who he created us to be.
One song that we sung was called ‘Fly’. Below is the first verse of this song:
Everything disappears but Your smile
I raise my hands
On a cliff I stand
Arms open wide
You’re the Father, I’m the child
You whisper to me,
Step off the edge
Leave it all behind, leave it all behind
Cut loose, cut loose the ties
Let go, let go!
I felt him say “if you take that step, I’ll show you people and places and wonders beyond anything you could imagine. I’ll show you more of myself.”
So as this song was still going on, I jumped. I stepped off the edge and he caught me. And we soared! We soared higher and higher into God’s glory. And then he took me over the nations. He showed me places and faces, hurting ones and praising ones. People that he loves. He’s got a plan and a purpose for them. He’s got a plan and a purpose for every single one of us. Whatever that edge is, he just wants us to step off of it and step into the journey that he so longs to take us on. My prayer is that we would all continually step off that edge and bring heaven to earth as we journey in his plan and his purpose.
