Just 6 Days into Cambodia! After what seemed like a couple days of flying, we arrived in Phnom Penh, Cambodia last Sunday. Our squad of 33 spent Monday and Tuesday ‘launching’, which basically included cultural briefings, meetings, worship, and prayer as a whole squad before the five teams set out to our different ministries.

I began to fall in love with Cambodia Monday morning when a few of us went exploring. This city is different than any place I have ever been before, filled with crazy amounts of humanity, unique smells, and a beautiful culture. Traffic is crazy and there are also street vendors everywhere with amazing (and cheap) food!

To experience all this with me is my wonderful team. Kristen, Katie, Cameron, Erika, Jason, and Tim have become family to me. God has blessed this team with diverse talents and personalities, yet a unified heart that beats to bring him glory. I feel beyond blessed to have these beautiful women and mighty men walking alongside me these next four months.
My team! Kristen, Erika, Cameron, me, Katie, Tim, and Jason

The seven of us have been working these past few days with a ministry whose focus is on trafficking prevention. The children that we work with are at a particularly high risk for trafficking due to poverty, abuse, neglect, lack of education, or a combination of these factors. My team is using their diverse gifts to do nursing, community outreach, organization and inventory, teaching, and curriculum development. Erika, Cameron, and I in particular spend our mornings organizing and doing inventory for their organzation’s store room, and our afternoons teaching in what they call the special class. These children are joyful and eager to learn despite their cirumstances, and I am thrilled to have the privilege of teaching and loving on them!

I love you all and appreciate your continued prayers for those we are working with, my team, and my squad. I look forward to sharing with you all the many cambodian adventures, challenges, and praises that lie ahead!
