Im SO excited to say that I can finally answer that question. Starting in September I will be embarking on quite an adventure with Adventures In Missions World Race: Gap Year. What is it? We will be traveling to Central America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, and staying in each country for 3 months so I will be gone a total of 9 months!

How did I get to this decision?

The very first missions trip I went on was in Ukraine when I was 12. Little did I know that this would just be the starting point. Two years ago I felt God calling me to go to Africa, I had no idea how it was going to happen I just knew I was to go. This was around the time my sister was graduating and she felt God calling her to Colorado Springs to do a program at New Life Church and she got connected with a “host” family to live with for the year. GUESS WHAT!? They went to Africa the year before and were leading the next trip in June 2013. To make a long story short I went to Africa this last summer and it was one of the best experiences EVER. After this trip I felt God was calling me to do a longer missions trip, not one that was just a few weeks. I heard about the World Race and saw that there is now Gap Year which is for 18-22 year olds and after prayer and thinking I decided to take a step of faith and apply! I found out my acceptance about two weeks ago and it is with much excitement, anxiousness, nervousness and many other emotions to say that I was accepted!!

Blogging…

God has quite a sense of humor. For those of you who know me well, you know that I do not like writing, let alone writing about my feelings and all that fun stuff. Well i’m going to have to get over that soon because…… This is now my personal blog, where I will be posting a few things before I leave but most of all if you are interested in what is going on in my life during this amazing adventure this is where you will get to see what God is doing in me, my teammates, the people we encounter and MANY MANY other things!
