Hey Everybody! Welcome to the about me section of my World Race blog. I’ll try to keep it informative enough for you guys to get a feel for who I am but keep it interesting enough to keep you from dozing off and drooling on your keyboard.

Lets start off with basics. My name is Kyler Roy. It’s a fairly unique name, but it’s simple, I like it. It’s easy to spell, easy to sign, easy to say for everyone but a substitute teacher, in which case it’s Kyle, Tyler, or Skyler. I am currently 20 years old and will be 21 in almost exactly 2 months. At the moment I live in Colorado Springs but the first 19 years of my life were spent outside of the small “town” of Newburg, Pennsylvania. It wasn’t really a town as much as it was a few roads with some houses. You know its a small town when the only store is owned by Amish people and has parking spots with hitches for horse and buggies. I went to school one town over in Shippensburg. It was larger than Newburg but still a fairly small. Despite it’s size it had tons of activities for the local kids to do (he said sarcastically). If you like spending your nights at Walmart or a Sheetz gas station then Shippensburg is the place for you!

I was raised in a loving Christian family. Mom, Dad, and one sister. Now that family has grown. My sister married a great guy she met while on the world race (I’ll save that for a later blog) and has an adorable daughter and a son on the way. We are a very typical, spazzy, loving family.

If you would like to know more about my testimony and walk with God check out my first Blog titled “An unexpected journey”. I couple my past and current life and what I am expecting during this epic journey I feel like that part of my life deserves it’s own huge blog and I don’t want this section to be to long.

Now some brief fun facts!

Hobbies?

I love to play guitar and sing. I tried out for the Voice earlier in the year before I decided to do the World Race. I did pretty well and made the top 4% of all who auditioned (the equivalent of the Hollywood round of American Idol). I thank God for the experience and the fact that I did not make the cut. I have so much to learn in other aspects of my life before reality television!

I’m also a pretty big nerd. Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Video Games, Some Comics, Pretty much anything nerdy I could get into.

Football. I love football. Fantasy football, watching my Patriots win the Super bowl, My one high school regret is not playing football. I’m only 5’5″ and pretty small though so I let the fear of being broken beat me
