Worshipping under the stars has to be one of the most overwhelming things I’ve ever done. Every time my team does it together, I end up in tears. There’s just something about singing or writing or painting (or whatever form of worship you’re doing) as a united body under the vastness of His night sky.
This past week, my team and I lifted up our voices to praise our Father under hundreds on hundreds of stars and like always, I was overwhelmed. I was overwhelmed with thoughts of the vastness of His creation, the absolute glory the stars proclaimed for Him, and the promises of a great nation that those stars represented to Abraham. Everything the Father does is so intentional and so perfect and so full of breathtaking beauty. I was awestruck and humbled that I get to serve a God so great, that He chooses to use me to be a part of bringing Him glory, and that the beauty that I was beholding wasn’t even the creation made in His image, that was me.
So needless to say, under a sky full of stars is one of my favorite places to be. I love it. I cry almost every single time. But after that night, I started thinking about the sky a lot, and although the stars are usually what catch my attention, I started thinking about the moon. The moon is incredible and can literally light up the entire night sky even when there are zero stars, and I wanna be like that. I want to be able to light up the darkness. I want to be a light no matter if there’s no “stars” standing next to me to help light up the darkness. As I kept thinking about it, I was reminded that the moon cannot produce light on its own. The moon can only light up anything because it is a reflection of the sun. I want to light up the darkness, but I can only do that if I am being a reflection of the Son.
So yeah, I wanna be the moon. I want to light up the darkness, but not by my own light (cause that’s impossible). I want to light up the darkness by being a reflection of who God is.
So here’s to living a life reflecting the most perfect Light; here’s to being the moon.
Love you guys! Can’t wait to share more about Africa with you beauties.
All my love,
K
