Ok cool. Now that I’ve gotten your attention, Let me clarify that it was part of a mountain… or a hill… it was a inclined surface to say the least. And I definitely wiped out on it. You see I went adventuring in my crocs. And although the crocs are invincible it does not mean that I’m invincible. One second I was at the top and then I blinked and the next thing I know I’m at the bottom with a twisted ankle. Mary thought I pooped my pants and for a second I wasn’t quite sure. Ha.

Life has been pretty crazy here to say the least. Guatemala, breaks my heart but then puts it back together all at the same time. I’m pretty sure God wrecks me daily. And He definitely blesses me every hour. He shows me things I need to work on and his mercies are new each morning. He really is so good.

We travel to ministry and everywhere else in Guatemala on a chicken bus. Some days the chicken bus is so crowded , I end up having to sit on the throttle with my arm slung across the driver. Or if I’m really lucky I get to sit on top of the seats hugging a complete stranger. Personal space is not a thing on the world race, and I love it.

The sunsets here leave me breathless. Sometimes the sky is orange or pink. Or all different colors. God really takes his time on it, if you catch what I’m saying.

The late night talks make me laugh until I cry. They are random and usually so weird. It’s the best time. Movie nights are also needed. Shoutout to Mary for providing the classic film, Christian Mingle.

The food here is from heaven, and I don’t know how I will ever be able to eat a meal without tortillas again. But with that being said, I made tortillas for my squad one night and they looked like blobs.

Spanish. My Spanish is so bad but with the right amount of hand motions and the occasional dance moves, I get by just fine.

Dogs are everywhere. In the streets, on the roof, literally everywhere. I’ve named them all.

Im part of a ministry called One Way Community. This team are powerhouses for The Lord and they really are family. They show me so much grace and patience. Example- Leanna and I were teaching twinkle twinkle little start to the kids, however we forgot the words. It was hilarious and embarrassing all at the same time. A typical ministry day includes tutoring to the kids in the village and house visits. It’s been so humbling experience and one of the coolest thing I’ve ever done.

God has shown up and showed out for sure and I’ve only been here for 2 weeks. He blows my mind daily and exceeds all expectations. His love is so evident and not only do I feel it, I see it. I see it in the smile of the woman who works at fat cat coffee, I see it in the laughter of my teammates, I see it in the grace of my ministry hosts, and I see it in the joy of the kids I get to teach. God is so good, and I can’t believe I get to live this life for Him.
