They say don’t blink.
Don’t blink.
When you blink, your babies are grown, your new job is now your first job, you are now that married couple, your parents are no longer with you.
Just don’t blink. Don’t blink and everything will remain the same.
Except for when it doesn’t.
Sometimes, even when you are trying your very hardest to not let your eyes clothes, even for a millisecond, life passes by.
It is here one moment and gone the next.
These babies at Hogar Para Sus Ninos. We are all blinking, breathing, going on with life, and they are growing.
While here, kiddos have learned to walk or are trying to walk. Some have learned to talk. Some have been brought into the orphanage and some are int he process of being adopted out.
One of the most beautiful paintings in the world is upstairs at For His Children. It is Jesus with kids on His lap and wheelchairs and all things good in the world. Along with the painting is Luke 18:16.
“Let the little children come to me… for the kingdom of God belongs to them.”
Jesus probably blinks. He sees His children as little babies one day and the next, grown. We have gone through life.
And here is the thing with life: it can be hard. You can go through things in your life time that can tear you down: depression, divorce, abandon, assault, pain.
But here is the most incredible news for you: Jesus has experienced that hardship, He understand, and He is walking with you to freedom.
He is looking at you, thinking, “How did they grow so fast?”
He blinked and here you are.
We can’t stop blinking. Time passes, life happens, but through it all, Jesus is there and He is with us every step.
