This morning we went to la Iglesia La Luz de Carapungo (The Light Church of Carapungo.) Seeing these people come together on a Sunday morning dressed in their best is all too precious to my heart. They have a genuine love for Christ. A love that is hard to find in modern day America. They believe in community, and by community they mean a deep love for all of those around them.

This is my first Church service in a different language and the Holy Spirit has moved in my heart like a rushing river flowing off of a mountain top. By worshiping in a different language the Lotd has given me an epiphany. All too often have I found myself in Church singing the songs but not knowing what they really mean, or perhaps my Spirit has not been fully engaged. Worshiping in Spanish (of which I know little) has shown me that just singing the words isn't worship. Worship is the passion, love and desire of the innermost places of our hearts. We don't need to know the language nor the song to worship our God! He is the God of many languages including the unknown language! So who am I not to worship because I don't know the words?

The Lord is breaking my heart for these people. They truly love without thinking. The youth pastor David shared with us this morning the importance of being disciples and loving our enemies. What a powerful message!
