Have you ever seen that movie, “The God’s Must Be Crazy” where the African boy has to take the coke bottle he found to the ends of the earth? That is exactly how I what I’m feeling with God! He’s given me all that I ever wanted/needed, yet He’s dropped this “coke bottle” (His love) into my hands and I have no idea what to do with it!
Recently He has been taking His love and revealing it to me in brand new ways. For instance this past Halloween night I was going to REI to exchange my daypack for the race for a smaller one. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to exchange it or not, but I felt the Holy Spirit tell me, “I’ve got this…” And I was filled with joy and peace. As I was sitting at a red light I began thanking Jesus for loving me and helping me through my days. While I was speaking to Him I received a “vision”. I saw the face of Christ!
Now here is where the crazy part comes in – as I saw His face, even though it was but for a split second I felt butterflies in my stomach! If you’ve ever been in love with anyone, I mean REALLY IN LOVE with them, then you’ll know what I’m talking about. It’s that feeling that literally takes your breath away! HOLY COW! How cool is that, that Jesus would reveal Himself like that to me?!
For I feel a divine jealousy for you, since I betrothed you to one husband, to present you as a pure virgin to Christ. – 2 Corinthians 11:2 – This scripture tells us that God loves us and is a jealous God, just as in a human relationship with each other we often are jealous. It amazes me that He feels this way about each and every one of us! Thank you Jesus for revealing your love to me!
