It is with excitement that I want to introduce to you the five people I will be working with for the first few months of the World Race.

First, I would like to say that our team is a great example of exercising faith in God. I don’t know that a single one of us expected to be put on this team. However, our coaches prayed fervently for every decision that was made concerning the team choices, and they all agreed that the Holy Spirit was leading them to put us together.

The word that kept coming to their minds was, “communication.” It was implied that we would be a team that would communicate strongly, and that we would challenge each other, and that we would help each other grow. I think we showcased that when we aced our first team-building exercise.

Enough preface. It’s time for the face(s).

Bask in the glory of cellphone camera resolution! Behold our pixelated and grainy selves!

On the left, we have Shirletha Jordan, a fashionista from New York. Then Kelly Anne Broderick,  who will be serving as our team leader. Our supplier of excitement is third in line, Catherine Brinley. Next, we have Jamison Shrock, who will bring the music and the dance moves. In the back is Greg Dickert, our resident logistics coordinator. And then there’s me.

Our little hand symbol represents the Y squad, which is the name of our whole team.

As for our 6-person team name, Catherine dug around and found some cool Greek concepts from scripture and presented to us the word kairos. By definition, kairos is:

(καιρ?ς) is an ancient Greek word meaning the right or opportune moment (the supreme moment).

When used in scripture, it is seen as the time in which God makes it possible for something of lasting importance or significance to happen. It is sometimes translated as “God’s time”, “sacred time”, “favorable time”, or “opportune time.”

We all liked the idea, and I think that we were all excited by the thought of looking for opportunities from God to witness to each other and to the nations, and I want to actively listen to God in my heart for the opportunities that he is going to lay in front of us.

Our first month is going to be spent in Albania, and our ministries will be planting, painting, youth ministry, and village visits. We’ll see exactly what that entails when we get there, but I’m confident that God orchestrated this, and that we will be able to do his will in his time.

Here’s to Team Kairos! I hope that you’re curious about our upcoming journeys. I would encourage you to subscribe to and share all of our blogs and learn a thing or two about us, and also for you to pray for us and support us in any way that you are able.

Thanks, and God Bless.
