Dear Family and Friends,

As some of you know, I did not get into Medical school this year. Although it was discouraging and humbling, it has given me a chance to do something special with a year off as I re-apply. After much prayer and consideration, I have chosen to serve through a program called Adventures in Missions on their World Race program.
World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. Through adventure, ministry, community, and self-discovery, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. On the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, help those involved with human trafficking, lead sports camps, help with construction, and bring the hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. I am so grateful for this opportunity, and I think a year off from school will truly be a blessing. I am praying that during the world race I will conform more to Christ’s likeness.
I will be in desperate need of your prayers next year. I am praying for a fruitful year and continued conformity to Christ. Also, if you are able and it would bring you joy, your monetary support would be gratefully received. I have already decided that 100% of my wages at my summer job at Noah’s Ark will be donated directly to my World Race trip. I have enclosed a response card with an address for checks. Donations can also be made online at my blog site (which I will be using to communicate throughout the trip) at: kylemarkel.theworldrace.org. Click the “Support Me” link on the left side of the page.
I am so excited to see how God will work in my life through the World Race. I hope to be a blessing to those I serve, and also to you. I would be honored to go as your representative to bring Jesus Christ to nations around the world. If you would like to talk with me more about the trip, feel free to e-mail me at [email protected] or call at (970) 218-6780
If you are able to attend, there will be a good-bye party on Sunday, August 21st, 4-7 pm. I would love to see you if you can attend. Please RSVP to [email protected] by August 15th.

Joyfully,

Kyle Markel
