~~Sponsoring a Child~

Beautiful people are all that live in this world. It is amazing to see a child laugh and to hear their laughter. From seeing sponsored kids, to working alongside a former sponsored child and sponsoring my own child, God has shown me the power of adoption.

Some of us, all of us don't really get the choice of where and how we are brought up. I have seen poverty in the United States and have seen poverty in third world countries. The biggest difference is OPPORTUNITY! Kids overseas might never dream of having opportunities like kids in the States.

Dreams of kids in the States are, "I want to be a fireman, professional sport player, doctor, nurse, or lawyer."

Dreams of kids in third world countries are, " I want to be a cement mixer, brick layer, or dish washer." Some turn to begging or being sold into sex trafficking to provide for their families.

Listen up:

EVERY CHILD SHOULD HAVE THE RIGHT TO DREAM ABOUT THEIR FUTURE.

Every child, no matter where they are born or the color of their skin, should have the opportunity to dream. You can give that opportunity. You can give the opportunity to dream.

Jesus says, "You must give up everything and follow me."

The widow gives all she had to live on (Mark 12:44)

The rich young ruler says what must I do to enter into the kingdom of heaven. Looking at him, Jesus felt a LOVE for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” Mark 9:21

James 1:27

"Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."

If you love Jesus, you will do these things. Obeying and believing the word of God is what is going to change this world. People who actually believe and live out what Jesus says to do are going to change this world.

Three real stories

The first is a Refugee village we got to visit in Thailand. The kids laughter sounded like heaven was on earth, maybe because in those moments it was. We got to play games, love, and see these kids as Jesus does. The group we were with was taking their pictures for sponsorship, just like the packets that I always would see of kids in the foyer of the church and after Christian concerts. I was seeing it in real life. The kids that got sponsored would get an education and a chance at opportunities to change the direction of their lives.

The second story is a beautiful story of a women we got to work with in Laos. Miss Joy is a warrior that is steadfast in her calling. She is a nurse in a closed country discipling other nurses and teaching English to students. She, too, was a sponsored child through Compassion in the Philippines.  She now is a Christian  a closed country who speaks three different languages. She said, "Yes, it works, look how I turned out" as she laughs with joy. Oh, by the way, her name is Joy, too.

The third story is that I have been sponsoring a child through Compassion for almost 5 years. He is from Uganda and his name is Eggesa Emma Were. We have written back and forth, and someday I plan on seeing him.

God has breathed life into you, so breathe life back into these little ones and sponsor a child today. You have an OPPORTUNITY to give OPPORTUNITY, to give a dream to these kids.

Romans 8:14-19

"For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him."
