I wrote this two weeks ago but never got around to posting it.
My week has been a little wild. Battling with some spiritual war fare. Got poison oak all over my body from work had that really bad for over a week. Then I got sick after working out and puked in my car not fun. Then after work went golfing and lost my car keys. Lock smiths been closed sat-mon because of Labor Day. So just got my car back forked out a health chunk of money for a new key. Expensive round of golf ha. Then last night my buddy Tom gave me a solid word. Keep running, keep running the race. It just gave me peace to know God knows and he has got my back. My troubles compared to the rest of the worlds troubles is nothing. I still have clothes, food and clean water. While most of the world struggles. Job in scripture lost everything he had and never once cursed God. I am still so blessed and thankful for all that God has given me.
Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.
This last week I have continued running keeping my eyes on the prize. I have seen God work this whole week. I got my business cards that have my information for the mission trip on them. I have started making a T shirt with a buddy to sell for a fundraiser. I have sat down and made plans to make a video for the trip. Also I am hosting a golf tournament the 21 of September for a fundraiser. I am really excited for this tournament! Please be praying for people to sign up.
