It’s hard to believe that our time is almost up in the Dominican Republic.  The month has gone by so fast that it feels like we just got here!  We’ve been so busy doing awesome ministry and community activities and I’m not ready to leave yet.

As of right now, we’re flying out of Santo Domingo on the 27th and stopping in Orlando for a short layover (my last time in the States for 9 more months!) before continuing on to Dublin.  You may remember that we are no longer going to Turkey and that we are doing the European tour directly after Ireland instead of at the end.  We have a little more information now so I can tell you all that my team will either stay in Ireland for the rest of September or go to Hungary!  Not sure when they’re going to let us know which teams go where, though.  Either way, I’m excited and I know wherever we end up, God will be the one who put us there.  I know better than to let the reputation of a country that we know from the U.S. to influence my opinions on where I would rather be.

This week in Mogollon has been all about door-to-door visits around the community to share the news of Christ and also encourage new believers.  The hospitality of this country is amazing… as soon as you walk through someone’s front gate, they’re scrambling around to find enough chairs for everyone to have a seat on their front stoop.  Some of the chairs are surprisingly nice dining room chairs and others might be plastic lawn chairs that are broken in half.

One woman, in particular, touched our hearts.  Her name is Carmela and we really enjoyed our time talking and praying with her at her home.

Here’s one of our whole group from yesterday with Pastor Manuel (front center) and our two translators, Silvia (front, left) and Mayi (behind Silvia).  We’re in the middle of doing a photo share so these pictures will all be up on my Photobucket album soon!
