Continued from part 1…

I’d be lying if I said I’m perfectly obedient about showing Christ’s love.  Many times when I’m trying to be, though, my icebreaker is my dad.  His faith inspired my own and he’s easy for me to talk about.  Other times, it might be a mistake I’ve made in the past that relates to the person I’m talking with.  Sometimes it’s as simple as the ceramic cross around my neck or what I’m buying at the grocery store!  (I mean, think about some of the random conversations you have with complete strangers… yeah, my point exactly…)

There’s something I’ve stumbled upon that makes the whole process of bringing God into the conversation a whole lot easier.  What is it?  You’re going to roll your eyes and say, “Kyle, you’re a genius” in your most sarcastic tone, but bear with me.

Pay attention (finish rolling your eyes and keep reading).  Not just to the Spirit in your heart telling you to talk to someone about Jesus, but also to what that person is telling you before you bring it up.  I guarantee you, if it’s a conversation that’s going to last for more than 30 seconds, they will give you a way in if you just pay attention!

You don’t have to be an expert to bring Him into the conversation (I definitely am NOT).  It’s not like you’re expected to break into song or sermon… it’s just a few comments inside of a regular conversation!  What I’ve found is that people won’t think you’re as loco as you think they might.  I don’t know about you, but I think it’s refreshing to know that someone is praying for me, or at least reminds me how amazing God is.

Again, what’s the worst that could happen?  The person gives you an awkward look and walks off thinking, “man, that person is a Christian…”  Living your faith and making it known is the point of why we’re here!  There’s not much good in believing there’s a Savior when you don’t act like it!

Chew on it… pray about it… pass it on!
