Before I even begin, you should know that this little bio here will already be outdated by sometime in July.  I fully intend to be transformed by where God takes me and what He shows me over the next year.
I’ll start with some things that won’t change:
  • I’m 22 years old, was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was reared in good ol’ Apex, North Carolina!
  • Although God introduced Himself to me when I was in middle school, I didn’t take the time to really get to know Him until just a few years ago.  Even then, I was too selfish and proud to give my life to Him the way I could tell He wanted me to… that happened just this past year and since then, He’s absolutely rocked my world with a kind of love I never thought possible!
  • I played football from 7th grade all the way up to my sophomore year in college, when I decided to concentrate on other areas of my life for various reasons.  As an under-sized middle linebacker at a division-I school, I’m not sure who I thought I was kidding, anyway!
  • I just finished my last year of school EVER!  Elon University (ironically mascotted by “the Phoenix”) decided they had enough of me and sent me out into the real world with a degree in Strategic Communications.  That’s a fancy way to say public relations and advertising.  My specialty after four years has grown into special event management and marketing, though.
  • I’m the youngest of five kids (not exactly kids, anymore): Charli, Shannon and Casey are my three big sisters and Luke is my big brother.  Technically, Charli, Casey and Luke belong to my stepdad, but we’ve been a family for so long that they might as well be blood.
My faith has absolutely EXPLODED within the last year, thanks to my dad’s faith.  He was diagnosed in late September of 2009 with terminal cancer and passed away in the company of me and my sister on New Year’s Day.  In his final months, instead of sitting in hospitals and getting stuck with needles for tests, he was busy checking off items from a bucket list with me and Shannon!  God has used my dad ever since he passed, though, to inspire other people in their own lives and faith, including my own!

Some other rando facts about me (in no particular order):
  • As soon as my lifestyle allows me to, I WILL get a boxer puppy to raise into the coolest dog known to mankind.
  • I’m a bit of a gym rat and enjoy taking care of myself when I’m not busy fulfilling my sweet tooth with brownies and other sweets (no, that’s not an oxymoron… leave me alone).
  • Being outdoors makes me happy.  Beach, mountains, desert… it really doesn’t matter!
  • I have several tattoos, most of which are Biblical references.  The most recent one is an optical illusion on my wrist:

Can you see JESUS?
