That is Emmi’s story, the founder of lighthouse in action which is the ministry that we will be working with this month. I wanted to share that video because there is no way that I could put her heart into words as good as she can. I want to encourage you all to research lighthouse in action and see what this place is all about.

This blog is meant to just give you an insight into what this month here in Chiang Mai Thailand is going to look like for me and my team. There are 3 different ministries and there are three different teams here so we had to decide which one was best for our team.

1. Love acts is the ministry focused on the bars and the girls in the red light district. Early in the morning and in the afternoon this team will be prayer walking through the darkest areas, showering it with prayer and preparing the way for the groups that will be going out at night to shine the light. This is extremely important because it is an extremely heavy and dark area.

2. Ex life is the ministry focused on the slums, particularly the children in the slums. It is called Ex life, first because that is where Emmi came from and second it is where most if not all of the girls in the bars came from. The goal of the team in this ministry is to go love on the kids and show them that they do have worth and there is hope for them. These kids do have value and they deserve better than a life in the sex industry. The ultimate goal to stop the sex industry is to cut it off at the root and many of the girls are bought out of the slums at a very young age. This team also has the opportunity to go to the temples and talk with the monks during the early hours of the afternoon.

3. Zion Cafe is where everything comes from. It is the home base and where a lot of the funding comes from. The final team will be working here in the cafe, loving on the staff,(who isn’t always Christians) and helping to keep this place running smoothly. A lot of people come in to learn and practice english so this team has the opportunity to share the love of Christ through teaching.

Everyone who wants to will have the opportunity to rotate at night going out to the bars to love on the women and the ladyboys. It is a very dark area with heavy signs of spiritual warfare surrounding it so we are going out to shine the light in the darkness and give hope to the hopeless.

My team and I will be doing Ex life. Our typical day will be something like prayer and house projects in the morning(painting and improving the dorms above Zion Cafe where we are staying this month. Afternoons will be monk chats and playing with children in the slums. At nigh we will meet together with all of the teams and pray for the night and for the teams who will be going out to the bars. Then half of the people who feel comfortable going out will go and the other half will stay here and continue to pray as they are gone. Prayer is extremely important this month because this is something that we deffinately cannot do without help. Not that you can do any ministry without the Holy Spirit working in and through you, but the enemy has such a stronghold here that you will overwhelmed without guidance from our Father.

I really believe in this ministry. If any of you are looking to bless someone with support this is a great place to do so. I encourage all of you again to research more about Pi Emmi’s story, and Lighthouse in Action. Thank you so much for all of your prayers, love, and support.
