Today was more than ordinary…
I am in Albania.
The main religion is Islam at about 80%.
The average number of time that someone hears the gospel before accepting is 50.
With these statistics you would think that the gospel is not spreading, but that is where the statistics aren’t shown…
After a small group setting with a bunch of highschool students, in which I made a complete show of myself by competing in the name game, I sat down at a table with 7 young men. During the session one of the Albanian leaders nudged me and said “pray”. I didn’t know what he was wanting me to pray for, because the whole conversation was in Albanian. It turns out that 4 of the guys weren’t Christians, and the time had come to present the gospel.
There I sat, dumbfounded…
What can I pray for? How can I help to communicate the love of Jesus to these guys. I couldn’t… All I could do was pray.
So I began to pray, a lot. Asking God to show his grace and love to these guys in a mighty way. After an hour of conversation, all heads were bowed and eyes closed. And a muslim raised young man accepted Jesus. The color in his face changed, and even though I couldn’t communicate it to him, a firm hug was all I could do to welcome him to the family.
His future, security and hope have changed forever. This month is the start of huge things to come. This is going to be no ordinary month.
