So we were expecting to be homeless when we made it to Kampala, Uganda on monday.  Our contact, Alex, informed us the place we were renting had been rented out to someone else the day before we arrived.  Nothing seemed to be in our price range as we pulled up on a large mansion.  The guesthouse was very nice and I was fully expecting our budgetary offer to be turned down.  After 30 minutes of discussion Courtney informed us to move our stuff in.

Our house in Uganda.

We went from feeling homeless to having a two bedroom, one bathroom guesthouse entirely to ourselves.  We have a huge yard with many shady trees to sit in, a large front porch with a beautiful view of Lake Victoria.  Our landord even brought us a refrigerator the second day we were in the house.  God has certainly provided us a place to stay and the rent is about $1 per person per night, way below budget.

The church we are working at is Christ Miracle Church.  Many of the church members are very poor and illiterate.  There has been a weird vibe of opression as we have visited the church.  Our contact Alex who is the pastor seems very genuine and caring but the church just has a weird spiritual feeling to it.  There is a great change for us as we stay in comfort and minister in poverty.  We will be doing mostly door to door evangelism, on our first day we saw multiple people come to faith in Christ.  So hopefully the church will be able to follow up with these people and they will have a chance to be discipled and grow in their faiths.  I preached last night at church and I believe it went well.

Things should be interesting this month, we have only been told we will be doing street evangelism, and it will be a weird balance between living comfortably and ministering uncomfortably.  Please pray for our team.  Internet in Uganda is much harder to come by than Kenya.  So it will probably be until next week before I blog.  God Bless
