So after talking with my editors and publicists, we have decided that my blog should be both shorter and contain more pictures. So what better way to introduce my new and improved blog than to refine what has become the only consistency in my blog, the Month in Review.
I’m starting out with a picture of how beautiful Ireland is (Thanks to Sarah Hogan).
We are finishing up our work in Ireland, this coming week will consist of a combination of the Awakening (a World Race worship conference) and our first debriefing. Next Monday, Sept 6th, we fly from Dublin to Kenya.
To review this past month in Ireland I’ve decided to compile a top ten list.
Top 10 Activities we experienced while in Ireland.
10. Finding out that instead of camping for the month, which we were expecting to do, we were welcomed into a huge comfortable house.
9. Running into two other world race teams in Dublin while we were evangelizing on our first Saturday in the country. We simply walked in a church to use the restroom and were told that “Americans are downstairs”
8. Playing golf with a fellow Irish lad namded Clyve and later hosting a BBQ with Clyve.
In typical guy fashion none of us brought our cameras, so I had to steal this photo from the internet.
7. Spreading gravel and cleaning the back porch at the house of Roshine, an elderly lady who lives next door.
6. Running to the sea and back many mornings with Sarah Hogan; sometimes squad leader Ally Beeler joined us.
5. Helping serve at an amazing ministry for Drug/Alcohol Rehabilitation, Betel. The men that hosted us there were truly a blessing to us.
4. Getting to remodel four rooms behind the house we were staying in. Seeing the fruit of our labor as we were fortunate enough to see the rooms transform from primitive to nearly finished. The July Squad from the World Race will be staying in these rooms so we were excited to get finished.
3. Taking a two day mini vacation to London, my favorite city outside of Auburn Alabama, with Tom, Casey, and Heather.
The sunset from the Tower Bridge overlooking the Thames River.
2. Joking around with our squadmates from Team Jubilee, they were an amazing group to work with.
1. Evangelizing on the streets of Dublin and Bray. We were given a couple of opportunities to share about our faith with Irish people. We didn’t pray any sinner’s prayers, but had a lot of great conversations, and planted seeds in faith.

-This was ultimately a great month of ministry. Our contacts, Jim and Kathy, were incredible hosts and challenging leaders. Prayer requests from this month that I will be continuing to pray for and I encourage you to join me are: Subboor, the Muslim man I spoke with in London; Jonathon, a man on the street I encouraged to check into a rehab center; Betel drug/rehab center; Bobby a friend of ours at Betel who needs to come to faith in Christ; and Jim and Kathy and their ministries with the “least of these” in Ireland.
Please also be praying for the Awakening and our whole squad. Pray that the Holy Spirit will work in mighty ways to speak to each and everyone on our June 2010 squad. Pray for me personally as I am not completely looking foward to the Awakening. I hope that God throws my hesitancies out the window and allows me to freely worship Him. Hope all is well.
