Its the end of the month so its that time again.  Time for the Missionary blog followers’ choice for favorite blog and we all know that is the “Month in Review.”  I know the media is intrigued and is debating what tone this “Month in Review” will take as it has obviously been a tough month for me.  Going along with the tradition and new improvements of “Month in Review,” this particular edition will have a positive tone as I will recount the Top 10 events of the past month.

10.  Playing basketball with our friend Anderson and a group of Kenyans.  The Africans we played with were not as good as most African-American basketball players as I was able to hold my own.
9.  Worshiping on Sunday mornings, thursday evenings, and many weekday 1 PM services with our African brothers and sisters at Deliverance Church Southlands.

Some children from a nearby village who were excited to see us.
8.  Having the honor to preach one sunday morning to the church.  I preached on the Beatitudes, unfortunately no pictures were taken, probably because my whole team was engaged in the sermon, maybe they were just asleep.
7.  Seeing and spending time with my good friend from Auburn, Alan Dennis, who is a missionary in the Congo.
6.  Serving one Saturday morning at an orphanage in town where the kids worshiped wholeheartedly.  I was able to speak to the oldest students as they were getting ready to attend college, it was so inspiring to see how thse young men and women were determined to succeed.
Some of the kids we worked with at the orphanage.
5.  Talking business with many of the church members.  Whether it was Patrick who sells fruit, Edwin who sells medicine, Tony the barber (similar to Tony Barbee), or Anderson’s brother who owned an internet cafe, I loved hearing about their personal business’ strategies and struggles and giving them advice.
4.  Speaking every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings at the local schools about the Bible.  By God’s grace one particular public school classroom had over 15 professions of faith one morning.
3.  Spectating and taking part in a traditional African tribal dance.

2.  Praying with one particular teenager, Antoine, for him to receive Christ.  See previous blogs for Antoine’s story and pictures.
1.  Spending time with our amazing contacts Pastor Joseph, Mercy, and their daughter, Patience.  We could not have asked for a better group of contacts who were so sweet and obedient to the Lord.
Here is Joseph, Patience and Mercy
-This month was no doubt the toughest month for our squad, as we had people getting sick, being sent home and many other issues.  I haven’t had the best month personally, but God still did His work, and looking back on the month I was happy to be a part of it.
