Last week I wrote about what God has been teaching me about putting on the armor of God daily. It’s easy to say the words, but walking the walk is a whole different  playing field. Knowing this, God gave our teams a great chance to practice.

On two separate occasions blatant attacks from the enemy occurred at our campsite. (If you haven’t read them already I’d encourage you to check out my teammates’ blogs for more details: Transformers and Quake.) On both occasions we could do nothing (thank goodness!) but call on our mighty God for deliverance. Our faith was challenged, our community was strengthened, and our armor was fortified.

If there was any doubt in any of our minds whether or not spiritual warfare is real, God answered it with a big fat “HEY! THIS IS NO JOKE!” resounding not only in one experience, but two. God clearly knows that we need to be told more than once in order to grasp reality. This is life..and it looks the same everywhere: Good vs. Evil.
Going on a mission trip can be potentially easy. Waking up every morning and choosing to submit to God is not. Regardless of geographical location, careers, family, friends, or anything else you might encounter in your day, God calls us to submit to him every day. EVERY DAY! That means no more sitting around waiting for something to happen tomorrow, next week, or twenty years from now. God wants you today, right now.

So that leaves us with a choice. We can stay where we are, comfortably passing the time in the familiar or we can take a chance by walking out of the waiting room. Whether you acknowledge it or not, there is no time to lose. So, in the most sincere way I ask you, “What are you waiting for?”
