This is a cake.
A mix of intentionally measured and combined ingredients to make a delightful tasting and beautiful treat.
Here it is preserved.
Sitting on a pedestal, carefully covered, only to be enjoyed by sight.
I don’t want to be like that cake.
Similarly I was created intentionally – a handmade collection of unique and fabulous ingredients.
But I do want to be like this cake.
Cake is for sharing.
And cake can in fact be messy.
I feel like the Lord has shown me that it is time to take the cover off.
Time to stop trying to preserve the things HE has given me in the first place.
They aren’t my gifts, they are his.
They aren’t my dreams, they are his.
They aren’t my ideas and passions, they are his.
And so, I’ve lifted the lid.
It’s time to get messy and share all the goodness God has given me.
My heart is to be in the thick of things.
Maybe it’s time to share some cake with people who have never had it before.
And so this marks a transition for me.
As the lid has lifted, the fresh air has rushed in bringing with it endless possibilities.
My hope is that pieces of me, like cake, will be shared in different places in this community.
Time to dish it out.
