Last month Kelly and I spent the month traveling around the amazing country of Guatemala. We got to venture around to invest in various teams, locations, and ministries. Check it out……..
ANTIGUA
We got to spend our first week in Antigua with Crux, Remnant, and Lunchbox before we split up to other locations. We did some worship in the local park and volunteered with an organization called Nuestros Ahijados. With the organization we did some maintenance work, helped in the school, and took the night shift at a home for orphaned babies.
PUERTO BARIOS
Our second week we spent with Holy Banditz and Fuse. It was ridiculously muggy, but enjoyable once I got over sweating profusely. We spent a day in the dumps feeding and praying for people who live there. We also went frequently to a children’s home to do an afternoon program including Bible stories, songs and games. One afternoon we went to a school to sing and teach English for the kids there.
SAN PEDRO
Next we traveled to Lake Atitlan where Remnant and Crux were living on different sides of the beautiful lake surrounded by volcanic mountains. Kelly stayed in Panajachel with Remnant while I jumped a ferry over to San Pedro to Crux. I had the chance to go to a youth meeting (to share about all the countries we’ve been too!) and do some construction. We were also living with their AMAZING contact, Pastor Antonio, and his family.
SAN LUCAS
We spent our final days in Guatemala with Lunchbox at their contact, Carlos’ house. The Lord blessed the team with these extraordinary contacts. They were a huge blessing to the team throughout the month, and opened their doors to welcome Kelly and I for the last few days in preparation for our long travel to Nicaragua. It was a joy to finish out our time with Carlos, his wife Heidi, and their three kids.
Overall, despite only brief stays in each location, the month was excellent. I loved seeing the Lord use our squad in unique ways all over the country of Guatemala. As though traveling around the world wasn’t already amazing, the Lord blessed Kelly and I will the opportunity to go all over the country we were in. AMAZING!
