Hello from Georgia! It’s hot, sticky and full of life! Let me give you a little peek into what’s been happening this week.

God is moving. He is moving in and around me, and I couldn’t be more excited. Each day we participate in new team builders, individual exercises, and communion with God. We had the opportunity to leave the main base for two days off sight. One of the activities while on the retreat was to spend a few hours journaling alone in God’s creation. Originally I was wondering how I was going to go out in the woods and not fall asleep. As it turns out, God wanted to teach me so much in that time that I couldn’t even consider sleeping.
I was sitting on a rock next to a creek, listening for God, when I heard some children playing downstream. I looked up and saw a family with four children splashing and playing in the water. As I was watching, one of the little boys starting dancing around with a cup in his hand yelling, “I caught a fish! I caught a fish! It’s a miracle!” He continued to jump around in excitement and I couldn’t help but laugh along with him.
Leave it to God to teach me through a six-year-old. Through that little boy’s reaction God showed me that’s what my reaction should be when he uses me to “catch a fish”. Jesus calls us to be fishers of men, and you better believe that little boy’s response was only a fraction of the excitement and delight that occurs in heaven when we “catch one”.
God has been teaching me lessons of all sizes over the last few days, including little tid bits like this. I can only wait in eager anticipation for what other things God will show me along the way. Let’s go fishing!
