P Squad Debrief in Manila: Pharewell to P Squad

 

Josh and Lia (P Squad Leaders) recently discovered the joy of changing words that usually start with the letter “F” with a “Ph” to represent P Squad. For example, upon arrival to Manila Kim, Janina and I were greeted with bracelets that said “Phreedom”. Genius. All this to explain the title of today’s blog: My Pharewell to P Squad.

 My beloved Squad Leader buddies Lia, Josh, Kim and Janina and our coaches Chuck and Selena Day.

 

This was Chuck, Selena and my last time with P Squad. Kim and Janina will get to return for their final debrief in May while I will be running a World Race Training Camp in Tennessee! In honor of our last night P Squad was super sweet to the three of us. They blessed us in prayer, prophesy and encouragement as we wrapped up our last night. It was such a blessing to be surrounded by these people that I love so deeply. And as many of them reminded me, this certainly will not be goodbye, as we have become like family. Family has the luxury of saying “See you later vs. Goodbye”. 

 

And so I spent the most fabulous 4 days with a group of 60+ people that I love dearly. They have been a blessing in my life and will continue to hold a special place in my heart. Seeing them at the end of month 8 and the ways God has grown them only compels me to look ahead at the hundreds of people God is preparing to use me to train this summer. God is so good.
