On October 29, I celebrated what was absolutely the best
surprise birthday party of my life. For those of you who do not know, my
birthday is April 18. Hmmmm……now let me make sense of this…..

The time has come for P Squad to spread their wings and fly
sans the physical presence of Kim, Janina, and I. So, on October 30, we said
our “see ya laters” and parted ways. We did not, however, part without one big
shindig to celebrate.

The day before their departure P Squad loved on us SO much.
They prayed over us, encouraged us, honored us, spent the day with us. It was a
fantastic ending of out 4 months with them on the field.

The cherry on top of our already fabulous day, was returning
to our house only to be escorted to our room (on the 3rd floor)
blindfolded. We were told to get ready from the assortment of secondhand
clothes on our beds and someone would be in to do our hair and make-up shortly.
So the three of us got dolled up for our mystery night.

After being bedazzled we were greeted by three lovely
gentlemen at our door to escort us to the celebration. As each couple walked
down the stairs we were welcomed with our respective celebratory exclamation.
For Janina: “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!” For Kim: “HAPPY PROM!!!”  For me: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!”  You see, the three of us had each had
disappointing experiences on each of those what-would-be celebrations in our
past. So, the squad decided to redeem them for us. GENIUS!

The entire downstairs had been transformed into quite the
lovely party scene. Here are some of the night’s events:

People telling stories (usually funny) about our time
together from the past 4 months.

P Squad men serenading us with “You Are My Fire”.

A visit from Cupid.

A dance with our “dates” with Prom Queen Kim.

A birthday cake, presented by a clown of course.

Original performance of “No Goodbyes” (an impromptu
composition) by Josh and Lia.

And of course a P SQUAD DANCE PARTY!!!!!

It truly was the best surprise birthday party I have ever
had. I wasn’t expecting it at all. Plus, I love any reason to get dressed up
ridiculously!

THANKS P SQUAD!!!!!!!!
