I have spent the last three weeks looking after the most adorable nephew I’ve ever seen (as you may have guessed he is also the only nephew I’ve ever had). He is three months old and cuter than a baby chick. Not only have I been spending my days looking after the little brute, but I have also been living in my sister’s home, turning their happy family of three into four.
Over these three weeks I’ve learned a lot about love from rather unexpected sources. Here’s what I’ve learned…

From baby Mason:
– Sometimes when rested, fed, and comfortably clothed, we are still not happy
because what we really need is to be held.
– People need to be handled with care… in word and deed.
From Hazel (on right), the angry antisocial cat:

– People who act tough need to be loved too, even if that
means giving them space.
– “Leaving someone alone” can result in them approaching
you for love.
From Lily (on left), the not so bright cat:
– Forgiveness goes a long way.
– Sometimes showing love means leaving your comfort zone.
So, now I’m trying to apply the things I’ve learned from small babies and various cats to my every day life. Weird huh?
