It is November 1st and this post wasn’t planned. I’ve actually been putting this of because I am terrified something is going to come up. That I’ll get my friends and family to donate, only for me not to finish something else that I’ve started.
Until last night, I was on the phone with a friend, man of God, brother, and he said “you make time for what you want”. Thank God it wasn’t a direct hit, because we weren’t even talking about me. But it still landed, right where God intended it to.
We’re not victims of life’s circumstances. We make conscious decisions everyday that either lead us to, or away from, our goals. Whether its hitting the snooze button three times when once was enough. Or watching two episodes of your favorite tv show, instead of just one when you get home from work/school. Maybe it’s spending money on lunch, instead of eating leftovers.
Ah. Most of think the decisions that actually affect our lives are out of our control. Which is the popular stance, because its easy. It’s easy to point the finger. It’s easy not to take responsibility. However, I have a hard time believing that I’m a victim of reality. In fact, the bible says we more than conquerors. (Romans 8.37)
Yes life happens, but Jesus said the storm would come. There was never a promise of no hardship. It is our everyday decision to hear and put in to practice, or not, the words of Christ that determine whether or not our houses stand or fall in the storms of life. (Matthew 7.24-27)
This post is me making time for something I want.
Please subscribe. Thanks for reading. More to come, hopefully.
