I have passions.

I have dreams.

I have goals.

Things that I want so badly to come true,

and passions that I want to come alive!

I know the ache in my heart that

I feel when I want something so badly

that it hurts.

I can’t even imagine the ache that

Jesus felt when He chose to come down

to this earth.

His passion,

His dream,

His very being

only desired for us to be set free.

He sat at the right hand of the most high God

and he watched as the people of this world

fell short ever time of the Law that

was set before them.

His heart broke and ached

for people to have freedom

and to have forgiveness.

On the day He was sent here onto the earth,

He wasn’t forced.

He wasn’t forced to come and live as a human,

and die for us.

He wanted to come.

He begged “Daddy, you see those people

they will never add up to the law that has been set before them.

They will never get it right.

So please Daddy can I go,

can I go and be made human.

Let me be the example,

let me be the warrior, the fighter.

I want to go set them free.

I’ll even go so far as to die in there place.

Please Daddy let me go”

He cried out and wanted to come.

And He came with every part of His

being looking like a human.

He came in the form of a man,

a man that according to Isaiah wasn’t even attractive.

Isaiah 53:2b says

“He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,

nothing in his appearance that

we should desire him.”

He didn’t look any different,

but His actions set Him apart.

He was qodesh,

set apart, Holy.

He walked this earth

with sinners and broken people.

He lived among them,

He breathed with them,

and every day His heart broke even more

for the lost and empty.

He was bruised and battered,

tired and weak.

He was tortured and

humiliated,

and He endured all of it.

He felt ever single inch of pain.

And for 9 hours He hung on the cross

and He felt all of the sin of this world

sitting on His shoulders.

But every time He felt it,

He saw a face that kept Him going.

He saw the faces of the prostitutes

that I encounter ever day,

He saw the men that sit on Loi Kroh Road

that have lustful thoughts.

He saw you and your sin,

He saw the innocent children

all over the world that have their innocence

stolen from them.

He saw the young girl that hangs her head

over the toilet to fit the mold this world has

said she has to be.

He saw the woman from Swaziland

that suffers from HIV.

He saw my friends in Bolivia that

live on the street and are strung out on drugs.

He saw me and He saw all the traps

that I was going to fall into.

He saw all of my mistakes and all of the times I

have screwed up.

These things, these people

all flashed through His mind for 9 hours

and that is what kept Him

there to endure the pain for us

so that we didn’t have to.

He even felt forsaken

so that we never would have to be forsaken.

Matthew 27:46

“My God, my God,

why have you forsaken me?”

He came with a passion

and a dream to set

His people free.

He is passionate about

you and about me,

and His whole purpose is to

fight for us.

He is the greatest warrior to ever live.

He is the greatest love story ever told.

He lived with one purpose,

to die in our place

so that we may live with

redemption and grace.

So that we can have passions

and dreams

and so that we can fight for them

the same way that He did.
