Happy Thanksgiving!

I can not believe that it is already Thanksgiving, and I’m spending it in Romania! I’ve been thinking back on the way things were last Thanksgiving and how different my life was. I was surrounded by my family in the comfort of my sweet Nana and Papas house, and I was happy. I was thankful for all the normal things that I should be thankful for; family, friends, and life in general. I sat around and laughed and watched a little bit of football and just enjoyed the day, but that was normal. Thanksgiving my whole life has been in a normal atmosphere with the same people around, but this year it is totally different.

This year I am in the middle of no where in Romania, surrounded by people I only met 5 months ago, and attempting to make normal Thanksgiving food by the few ingredients that we have. And honestly I have never been happier. I am so excited to be here now spending this amazing day surrounded by the most incredible people I could ever ask for. Yes I miss my family and if they were here it would be even more amazing, but this is my new World Race family. We are making this Thanksgiving all that we can with the little that we have and I love it! I love the simplicity of it, I love that we are in the middle of no where on a camp/farm, and I love that we are mixing all of our family traditions. And I especially love that our turkey was killed last night by my sweet friend Ruth outside of our house.

I was asked yesterday “What is one thing that you are thankful for this year that you weren’t last year?”I’ve made a list so here you go.

I am thankful this year for the changes.

I’m thankful that I get to spend this day making new memories.

I’m thankful for this camp and that it is secluded from everything.

I’m thankful that I have the opportunity to even be thankful for these things!

I’m thankful that it is different and that it isn’t the “normal” thanksgiving day.

I’m thankful for every single person I have met along the way that has changed my life forever.

I’m thankful for the amazing meal that we are eating today.

I’m thankful that I am surrounded by my best friends today.

I’m thankful for the simple life.

I’m thankful that this life isn’t comfortable.

I have also made a list of things I miss from home today.

My family of course

Sweet potatoes

Broccoli cheese casserole

FOOTBALL

Knowing that all the ingredients to the food are legit

Fried turkey

Playing games with the family

Macy’s day parade

I’m sure that there are more things I will miss throughout the day but those are the main ones! I love you all so much and I am sooooo THANKFUL for ALL the support that has gotten me to where I am right now!! I love you all so much! 🙂 Have a beautiful blessed day!

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good!
